Brewing Guide
Not sure which grind or roast to pick? Here's a quick guide to help you choose.
Choosing a Grind
- Whole Bean — best if you grind fresh at home right before brewing; keeps flavor and aroma locked in the longest.
- Coarse — matched to French press and cold brew, where grounds steep for several minutes.
- Standard (Drip/Medium) — built for drip machines, pour-over, and most auto-brew coffee makers.
- Espresso (Fine) — matched to espresso machines and Moka pots, which need a fine, even grind under pressure.
Understanding Roast Levels
- Light Roast — brighter acidity, more of the bean's original character comes through.
- Medium Roast — balanced sweetness and body; the most versatile everyday cup.
- Dark Roast — bolder, heavier body with deeper, roasted notes; a common choice for espresso.
A Few General Tips
- Store coffee in an airtight container, away from light, heat, and moisture.
- Whole bean stays fresher longer than pre-ground — grind just before you brew if you can.
- Use filtered water where possible; water makes up most of your cup.
